Test Revision

Dear 5/6W,

Tonight you will need to revise for our science test tomorrow on Atoms. This video has the info you need to answer these questions.

1. What is a nucleus?
2. What is a proton?
3. What is a neutron?
4. What is a electron?

This video has a lot of words you might not understand, so to make things easier for us all please post the answers to the questions and also any words you don’t understand (you could even put the definition there as well!)

Good luck!

Mr Williams

A nucleus is the heart on the atom which is full of protons and neutrons

Electrons are around the atom and do all the chemical stuff and are a negatively charge partial

  2. gabby

1.A nucleus is the core of the atom.
2.A proton has a positive charge and is inside the nucleus.
3.A neutron has no charge but is the same size as the proton and is also in the nucleus with the proton.
    4. An electron has a negative charge and is the smallest of the proton, neutron and electron.

A necleus is the soul of an atom and in that nucleaus there are the protonns and neutrons.

The neutron stableizes nuclei for there proton friends.

Neutrons have the same charge as an electron but is the opposite.

Electrons are things inside an aton that hang outside of the nucleus and do all the chemical stuff.

    1.the heart of a atom
2.a stable subatomic particle occurring in all atomic nuclei, with a positive electric charge equal in magnitude to that of an electron.
3.a subatomic particle of about the same mass as a proton but without an electric charge, present in all atomic nuclei except those of ordinary hydrogen.
4.a stable subatomic particle with a charge of negative electricity, found in all atoms and acting as the primary carrier of electricity in solids.

The nucleus is the inside of a atom. Inside the nucleus are protons ans neutrons which make up the nucleus. Protons are a particle with lots of charge and the neutrons are a particle with no charge.

Electrons are particles which float around the nucleus and do all the chemical stuff.

  6. Harry

A proton is something with a positive charge

A electron is something with a negetive charge

A neutron is a proton but without a electric charge

Is the middle or the heart of the atom

  7. Mia

Electron’s hang out around the Nucleus and does all the chemical stuff. They are negatively charged particals!
Nucleus is the heart of an atom and full of protons and neutrons !
Proton is a subatomic partical taking place in atomic nucleus with electric charge same in magnitude!
Neutron is subatomic partical of the same size as a proton but without having an electric charge!

1:the nucleus is the center of the atom
2/3:the nucleus is made out of protons and nuetrons
4:the electrons are negative charged particals which surround the nucleus

    Hey,

These are the answers to the questions.
    1. A nucleus is a heart of an atom that contains protons and neutrons.
    2. A proton is a positively charged particle that is in the nucleus.
    3. A neutron is a particle that has no charge and is also in the nucleus.
    4. An electron is a negatively charged particle that is not in the nucleus but is on the edge of the atom.

  13. Will L

    1. The nucleus is the main part of the atom that holds the protons and the neutrons.
2.The proton is the one that is positively charged in the nucleus.
3.The neutron is the one with no charge at all in the nucleus.
    4. The electrons is the negatively charged one that goes around the nucleus.

    Hi,
    Answers:
1.The nucleus is the 1000 time smaller ball in the middle of a atom which hold protons, neutrons, molecules and quarks.
    2. A proton is the positive energy inside a nucleus which is inside a atom.
    3. A neutron is a part inside the atom which holds all the protons together. If they weren’t there all the protons would split apart, which would make the nucleus split apart. That would definitely not be good because the whole atom would fall apart.
    4. Electrons are the negative energy which circle around the nucleus.

    Hope this is good!

  15. k-k-k-k-k-k-K!3R4N

    1. The positive charge in the centre of a the atom.
    2. A proton is a positive electric charge inside the necleus.

1.It is inside an atom. Inside the nucleus are protons and neutrons.

2.Protons are pieces (particles) WITH lots of positive charge.

3.The neutron is a particle that has NO charge at all.

4.The electron is a negatively charged particle that is not in the nucleus but is on the edge and bottom of atoms.

  17. Charlotte

Nucleus is in the middle of an atom.

    Question answers:

    a) the nucleus is the center of the atom.

    b) a proton has a positive charge.

    c) a neutron has no charge. It’s neutrol.

B and C are both part of the nucleus.

    d) electrons are much smaller than protons. They have a nagitive charge. They wizz around the nucleus.

  19. Bridget

Nucleus is in the middle of an atom.
Neutrons are inside an atom but it has no charge.
Protons are inside an atom and they have a positive charge.
Electrons go around the nucleus with a negative charge.

    1. The nucleus is the tiny little dot that is 1000 times smaller or if you may say heart of an atom than holds all of the protons and neutrons.
    2. The proton is an heavy and positively charged particle in an nucleus.
    3. The neutron is about the same size as the proton but is a neutral charge.
    4. The electron has the same amount of charge as the proton but the opposite and barley no mass at all.
    5.Words i don’t understand
1.isotopes definition:each of two or more forms of the same element that contain equal numbers of protons but different numbers of neutrons in their nuclei, and hence differ in relative atomic mass but not in chemical properties; in particular, a radioactive form of an element.
2.chemistry definition: the branch of science concerned with the substances of which matter is composed, the investigation of their properties and reactions, and the use of such reactions to form new substances.
3.pollen definition: pollen is a fine to coarse powder containing the microgametophytes of seed plants, which produce the male gametes.
    4. praseodymium definition:the chemical element of atomic number 59, a soft silvery-white metal of the lanthanide series.

The nucleus is the core of the atom.
The neutrons are circling the nucleus but with no charge neutral.
The protons are circling the atom to but with a positive charge.
Finally the electrons in the atom has an negative charge .
